Paws for Thought was set up by Stuart Brace an ex-Police dog handler following the disbanding of the local Police Dog Team and due to the continued requests for Dog Displays in the area.

After some years of performing a police style display, Stuart took control of the team and changed its style. Gone were lengthy obedience routines, police style agility and police man work and in came fun agility races, encouraging crowd involvement, tricks and games which children and adults could participate in if they were brave enough.

The display changed from formal to very informal, the onus placed on entertaining the whole family. A strong message was also presented that dog owners should be responsible for their pets and fun could be had training a dog, whatever the breed.

The team attracted two very important sponsors namely Hills Science Plan and promoting Drontal worming tablets.

Formulated Dog Food and Bayer plc. The teams reputation was growing and they were now being booked by large events. Two local companies now also provide sponsorship namely Arena Lettings and Hereford Canine Hydrocare.

Eventually they were requested to perform at Crufts Dog Show and the team have not looked back. They have performed at such prestigious events such as Discover Dogs, Channel 4 Pet

Roadshows, Royal Bath and West, Royal Welsh and Three Counties Shows. They are still very proud to be sponsored by Hills Pet Nutrition and Bayer plc plus a number of local companies.

They are now performing countrywide and are represented by a number of top agencies namely Daubney, 1st Class, Temples, Peter Johnson and Tony Yorke.
